Happy Hump Day!!! (Everytime I say hump day I think of this commercial)
This morning started at 6:15 (I had a hard time sleeping last night and I think I was tossing and turning starting at 4, so around 6 I just figured it was time to wake up). Drank some water, put some laundry in, and got in a great workout! *Fun fact: I usually do laundry first thing in the morning while I am working out; it is just easier that way* My workout today consisted of 30 minutes on the treadmill–ran 2 miles, and walked for another 10 minutes. After that, I checked the Daily Workout for Tone It Up, and followed the 5 ab toning moves because I didn’t want to wait for their live workout tonight. I went through each move 15 times on each side for 4 rounds. These moves were some of my favorites: Side plank hip dips, Standing side crunch, Up & down plank, Bicycle, & Tummy toners! I am going to try to aim for a longer run than I usually do on Sunday. Since we are going on vacation in ONE WEEK (woohoo!) I want to get some great workouts in! I mean, I will have to be in a bikini every single day and want to look good and most importantly feel good about it 😉
Do you ever hear a song and it takes you back to a really good memory? A memory that makes you so happy and puts a smile on your face? I do! I do! Last night I heard Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling“. That song reminds me of our wedding day! (Wedding spoiler alert: I danced with my dad to that song for half of our Father Daughter dance) It instantly cheered me up and made me in a good mood! Another song that sends me back to an awesome time? Calvin Harris & Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For“. This song makes me think of our honeymoon in the Bahamas; laying out in the sun on a lounge chair with not a care in the world. I heard this song at work in the afternoon yesterday! “I’m The Ish” by DJ Class, Lil’ Jon, & Pitbull is another one of those songs that brings back a great memory! I heard this randomly this past weekend in my car. It makes me think back to the year it came out (2009? 2010?), driving around aimlessly with my sister, blasting the radio, laughing, and dancing! We actually have our own little dance moves for this song, haha! And “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars makes me extremely happy…it reminds me of our family Disney trip! I could go on and on because there are so many songs that send me back to cherished memories! What’s even better is if those particular songs happen to come on while I am working out or running. They motivate me and make me get into the workout even more!
What else motivates me to workout every day? It makes me happy! It makes me feel accomplished when I can push myself beyond that point where I want to give up but I keep going! It also makes me feel good and more in tune with my body. Now there are days when I feel like I don’t want to workout, on those days I tell myself to just do 10 minutes and if I still want to quit after that, I can….but I never do! I keep going!! I also know that if I don’t get a good workout in I am kind of a grumpy person. Working out gives you endorphins, and endorphins make you happy! (….and happy people just don’t kill their husbands, any Legally Blonde fans out there?!? Haha!)
Anyways, I hope you all have a great day! Wednesday’s always hype me up because it’s almost the weekend, but then I realize that the weekend is a bit further away than I would like it to be. I am going to try to make the best out of today and push past any negativity…and I am choosing to be HAPPY! 😉
