Cutting into our year old wedding cake & one year of marriage

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! I hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend! I sure did!

Our one year anniversary was on the 19th, and since we were on vacation, we didn’t get to eat the top layer of our wedding cake on the day of, but we dug into it last night! It was so delicious! The bottom layer was white cake with strawberry mousse filling, and the top is red velvet with cookies and cream filling. *The cookies & cream filling is “The Grey Stuff” at Be Our Guest!!* We were surprised it still tasted so good and moist even after a whole year later! When we were cutting into it, I played our cake cutting song to make it seem more like our wedding day, except Mickey wasn’t with us this year to help us cut into it. 😉 We really enjoyed the cake, and have lots more so I am sure we will be digging into it every night this week!

One year later and our wedding day still feels like it was just yesterday!

Some people have told me that the first year of marriage is the hardest, and the best…all at the same time. I can agree that it was hard and that it was a very very good year!! There has been a lot of laughs, a lot of celebrating, a lot of hugs, a lot of vacations, and a lot of love. But of course, there has been some ups and downs just like any marriage, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Those not so fun times has brought us closer, made us stronger, and taught us more about our relationship.

I love my husband, and I love our life together. Since I am feeling nostalgic today, lets take a walk down memory road: The First Year of Marriage 🙂

  1. Happy anniversary!! You’ve had an active year! I’ve heard the same about the first year of marriage and think it’s mainly if you didn’t live together beforehand because that can be a HUGE adjustment. You two are adorable together!! <3
