Hi friends! Happy Hump Day! 🙂 We are half way through the week! I hope there is some sunshine coming our way, because it sure does not feel like summer around here!
Today started with a workout, of course! I mixed up the beginning of my workout, because I wasn’t really feeling it today. I ran .5 miles, then hopped off and did 15 each of jumping jacks, crunches, heel taps, star crunches…repeated that 4 times for a total of 2 miles, then walked on an incline for 1.5 miles afterwards.
As promised, I am going to share some more about our time in the Bahamas at Sandals Royal Bahamian. This post will specifically be all about our relaxing times spent at the pool, beach, and private offshore island! It sure is nice to look at these pictures and think back to these times, especially with this rainy, crumby weather.
Every day we went to the pool around 10AM, and stayed until about 5PM. You can say that we really enjoyed our time soaking up the sun and relaxing!!
Every day our butlers, De’Angelo and Rohan, reserved our pool chairs (& umbrella) and brought us a cooler filled with waters, as well as any drinks we wanted. They came around about every hour (or more) to check on us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
The Windsor Pool is our favorite one at the resort, there is also the Balmoral Pool near the Balmoral Towers, but that one is much quieter. All of the loud music and entertainment each day is at the Windsor Pool, and we were all about it! The entertainment staff, the “Playmakers” as they call themselves, were out of this world fun! We were so looking forward to their games, trivia, and music each day at the pool, as well as their entertainment at night! Our favorites of the crew are Peter, and Jason. (They were there last year as well, so it was so nice to see them and hang out with them again!) I also loved the manager, she is so nice and always had something nice and confidence boosting to everyone, like “hey supermodel, you are gorgeous!” (You know, that does feel good when you are walking around in a bikini hahaha)
The Windsor Pool is just steps away from the beach, which made it so convenient for us to keep switching from the pool to the ocean. The pool water was much warmer than the ocean water, but they both felt nice and cooling because the sun was so HOT! I usually am just the type of girl to lay out for hours, but I was in the pool for most of the day and loved it!
We definitely enjoyed the swim up bar, as well as having our butlers bring us drinks. My favorite tropical drinks by the pool were strawberry daiquiris, Miami vices, and pina coladas…all topped off with vanilla vodka instead of rum. I am not a big drinker, so I only ordered like one drink during the day (if that) and Michael usually finished it off for me. But, it was nice to sip on something fruity 😉
The resort has hammocks and things around that make it fun and definitely relaxing!
I obviously had to stop and lay on a hammock, and sit on the gigantic Sandals chair to get a picture, because why not!?!
Sandals offers some water sports that are included with your package, so we got to take advantage of that. Michael wanted to go snorkeling, and luckily we became friends with another nice couple who was in the same situation as us…the wife didn’t want to go snorkeling! Win! I got to hangout in the pool with her while the men went snorkeling. Michael said it was a lot harder than he expected, and he was having a hard time breathing because the water was a bit rough, making waves. He did take his GoPro and got some neat pictures of fish!
We also went kayaking, and I have to admit I was pretty scared. We did this last year as well, but even though we did I was still equally as scared as before. Haha! It was fun though, the water is so gorgeous and I did love feeling the ocean breeze on my face.
The last full day we were there, we took the boat over to their private offshore island. The island is literally like a 3 minute boat ride over, which I enjoyed very much. The ocean water is absolutely breathtaking!
The private island is shared with another resort, but I am not sure which one. I was kind of surprised at that, because I thought Sandals owned the whole thing. There was a wall up that divided the two to avoid confusion. On the island there is a pool and a bar, but the pool is very small. Michael wanted to see if he could get any pictures of fish or anything underwater with his GoPro, so we went on the other side of the island, where there are many cabanas, lounge chairs and beds, and swings! (I of course had to go on the swings!) The ocean was very rocky over there, but there was some spots that were so clear it looked like you were in a pool!
We only stayed there for about 50 minutes and caught the next boat back to the resort, the private island was nice, but the resort is better for us. We didn’t want to waste our last day not being at the Windsor Pool!
Stay tuned for more!! Have a wonderful day!! Xoxo
