Hi! Happy hump day! Before we get into today’s post, I need to wish my brother Lukie a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! 🙂
To continue on in sharing all about our wedding, which I know I totally missed a couple of these Wedding posts (sorry)…today I am sharing all about the day before our wedding which included our ceremony rehearsal and our rehearsal dinner! Missed any of the other wedding posts? Read about our proposal here, beginning the planning stages here, our planning session with Disney here, and all about my dress shopping experience here!
I must start out with saying that I could NOT have planned any of our wedding festivities without the Disbride community, like I had mentioned before, or without the help and guidance of our own Fairy Godmother Lisa, who is the genius and creator of Disbrides! I read the Passporter’s Disney Weddings & Honeymoons Guide a number of times, and also listened to ALL Disney Wedding Podcasts by the lovely Carrie Hayward! Honestly, if you are planning ANY type of Disney wedding, whether it be a wishes, escapes, memories, cruise, etc….go listen to these amazing podcasts! They saved me from hours of stress!! 🙂
The day before our wedding was a fabulous day and night. It started with a pedicure with my sister at the Senses Spa at the Grand Floridian. I absolutely love getting spa services there, it’s so pretty and they make you feel like royalty! We even were given a glass of champagne 😉 I also had my hair done at Ivy Trellis inside of the Grand Floridian. I loved getting my hair done there. My hair stylist was so sweet, she even sprinkled me with pixie dust after! I felt like a true princess all day!
Our ceremony rehearsal was at 4pm at the Wedding Pavilion, where our bridal party & family, Pastor, our wedding planner, and her assistant met us. I still was in disbelief that we were rehearsing OUR WEDDING!!!
Here we are with Pastor Kirk Bane:
Here we are with our amazing planner Amy:
We all had matching FAMILY shirts 🙂 *Made by my amazing Disbride sister, Rebeka at Southern Belle Creations! She makes ALL our shirts for our Disney trips. Find her here & get yourself some cute shirts!!*
After that, it was time to get ready for our rehearsal dinner at Ariel’s in the Beach Club Resort!
We originally were going to have our rehearsal dinner at the Napa Room inside Contemporary Grill, but the menu was pretty standard and you couldn’t customize it, so we had to seek other options. I fell in love with pictures of Ariel’s since it is so pretty in there, and pretty big. We could customize our menu, and pretty much have the whole room to ourselves, including an area to dance (and for Gio to run around)! Ariel’s was an awesome choice for our dinner!
For our dinner we had a buffet of the “Mama Melrose’s” menu from Disney Fairytale Weddings, but customized a bit. On the menu we had: a field greens salad with cranberries, almonds, and white balsamic vinaigrette, freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, fresh fruit display, pasta sautéed with extra virgin olive oil, arugula, and feta, penne pasta with meatballs, sauté chicken piccata with lemon butter sauce, ciabatta and focaccia bread, cakes, cannolis, and coffee. We also had an open bar full of beer, wine, champagne and liquor.
I so wish I had more pictures, especially of the food and the room…but we were too busy having fun and enjoying ourselves. Gio had lots of fun too!
After our dinner a bunch of us went out to the Boardwalk for more celebrating!
We were able to watch the Epcot fireworks from the Boardwalk too, which was so magical!
It was such a special night!
By the time I got back to the Grand Floridian, I was still in disbelief that it was my last night as a single lady! 😉
Enjoy your Wednesday, friends! Xoxo
