Friday Favorites #12: Disney Food Edition

Hey ya’ll!!! Happy FRIDAY!!! I hope you all enjoyed your week and are looking forward to the weekend! Do you have any fun plans?! I’m not sure what I’ll be doing, but I’m sure it won’t compare to the past couple of days I just had. Like any other Disney trip, I am super sad to be back home and back to reality. But, that’s life and our next trip is just around the corner in 34 days 😉

Since I’m back home, I figured I would get this blog going again with a round of Friday Favorites: Disney Food Edition! 😉 *Please note: This is NOT the only food we ate during our trip. This is just a post about some of our favorite food and restaurants we went to during our time there. We had lots of snacks, other meals, and some treats that went unpictured. *

Grand Floridian Cafe

Everyday, we are breakfast at our favorite restaurant on property, at the Grand Floridian Cafe, and of course requesting our favorite waiter Robert! I am obsessed with their fruit plate (with extra fruit) and English muffin with strawberry jelly. Yum. And of course, each day started with many cups of their delicious coffee.

Michael would order oatmeal served with brown sugar and raisins, a fruit plate with yogurt and granola, or the Grand Breakfast and a bagel with cream cheese. Deeeeelicious!

The Plaza Restaurant

Our last day (Wednesday) we ate lunch at The Plaza inside the Magic Kingdom, where we didn’t have reservations but just had to wait a quick 30 minutes to be seated! It was well worth the wait for sure; I got their strawberry salad (without chicken), and a side of broccoli. The salad was EVERYTHING. So yummy!!

Michael got the angus chuck cheeseburger and french fries. I think he ate it in two minutes; to say he enjoyed it is an understatement! 😉

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Our first night there we are dinner inside the Magic Kingdom at Tony’s, which is one of our favorites! I love the Lady and the Tramp atmosphere in there, it’s so cute!

First up, our waiter brought us some focaccia bread with olive oil, and then we ordered. I got a garden salad with balsamic and a kid’s spaghetti and meatballs (so Michael could eat the meatball), and he ordered the chicken alfredo fettuccine. The focaccia bread wasn’t really a hit for me, but no biggie. 😉

Lotus Blossom Cafe and Nine Dragons Restaurant

Michael and I went to Epcot on our second day, and walked into China because I heard their quick service was very good! Michael ended up getting pot stickers and orange chicken with steamed white rice. They had a vegetarian option, but I had asked how they cook their vegetables (hoping they would be steamed) and unfortunately they were made in oil, so I opted to not eat there. Instead, once Michael was done eating his food, we went into Nine Dragons to sit down. This was our first time in here, and we loved it! I ordered the vegetarian stir fry without tofu, (after making sure the vegetables were steamed lol) and Michael ordered some more pot stickers. We each enjoyed some Chinese Hot Tea…yummmyyy!

50’s Prime Time Cafe

I know I talked about this one before on the blog, but we LOVE it here. The atmosphere is so fun, and really brings me back to being inside my Grammy and Grampy’s house. Even if you have reservations, there is always a bit of a wait because this place gets packed. We dined here on our second night while in Hollywood Studios and had a blast. The waitresses and waiters tell you all of the rules prior to taking your order, for instance: no elbows on the table, no walky-talky’s at the dinner table, eat all of your vegetables, and do your chores!

I ordered a large garden salad with vinegar on the side, many sides of vegetables (green beans, steamed broccoli (oops unpictured), and corn), and Michael ordered the chicken noodle soup, and fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. YUMMMMM-OOOO!!!

1900 Park Fare

Ok, this is another one I have raved about on the blog, but seriously this one has to be my favorite character dining! The characters are always a blast and the food is good too! We went for dinner on our last night in Disney (I know I know, I told myself no character dining’s during this quick trip, but I couldn’t resist this one). We always know we are going to have fun, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous!

I was very excited to see some favorites: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Drizella and Anastasia. These characters put on a show and are FANNNNTASTIC every single time we go here. I end up having so much fun and leaving with my face sore from smiling so much!

Now, onto the FOOD! This is a buffet style dinner, so it’s all you can eat! And eat we DID!!! The other thing I absolutely love about this restaurant is that you can speak to the chef in the back about any food allergies, or if you are like me, any picky eating you may have. My stomach was a bit upset by our last night there, and since I know some things (milk, too much gluten, etc.) upsets my stomach, I didn’t want to overload it with any more bread. So, I asked one of the chef’s for some gluten free rolls and they happily brought out some warm rolls for me. They also told me that if I needed anything else, to make sure to let them know, which made me feel good of course! I think it is safe to say we were stuffed. Here are some pictures of some of our plates, not all: I got a bunch of salad, veggies, and fruit. I ended up not eating the rice and green beans. And Michael got a bunch of plates also! I wonder if you can tell which plates are whose?! 😉

We even sampled some of the famous Strawberry Soup!! The verdict? It was very strawberry-y! 😉

Mmmmmmm!!!!

There you have it, folks! Some of the delicious food we ate during our quick trip to Disney!! Are your tummies grumbling with hunger?! I know mine is after thinking about it all and looking at the pictures! 😉

Have a fabulous day, and a great weekend!! XOXO ♥♥

  1. Did you at least get a few treats during the trip? Looks like you really stuck to a healthy eating plan while you were there. I was in London for three weeks over the holidays and while it was great to be traveling for so long I eventually refocused on just eating the healthy stuff … but if there was a treat once a day I didn’t let it get to me. It was totally worth every sweet treat because I knew I was WALKING a ton and still working out once a day. 🙂

    1. Yes! I didn’t include the treats! We totally dug into the dark chocolate covered strawberries at Disney Springs, which were amazingggg! I am usually not a fan of sweets and treats, but I can’t really resist them in Disney World. (Especially the Mickey shaped things!) We were going to get ice cream in Magic Kingdom before we left, but it was a little chilly for it. I will for sure have a post about our Disney treats after our trip next month!

      1. That’s good to hear. Would be sad to not enjoy the awesome mickey shaped rice krispie treats OR the chocolate dipped mickey ears ice cream. I hope to get back to disney in the next two – three years. Just not in the budget right now. 🙁
