Heyyyy! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope your week has started off in a great way. I am still off from work today, and I gotta tell ya…it is going to be ROUGH going back tomorrow. Whenever I have some time off from work it’s always a struggle to get back into the hang of things, like real life. You feel me? However, there is always a silver lining: our Disney trip is right around the corner, it’s coming up in 30 days!
This past weekend was a pretty chill one, like always. It included lots of cleaning, lots of snuggling, and lots of workouts. It did feel great to just relax and get back into the swing of things slowly after traveling to Disney, but I definitely missed Michael a lot after being with him for those four days and then going back to real life right after. So, let’s get on with my recap from this past weekend (a day late, yes…but technically my “weekend” is Sunday and Monday)
Friday started with a 25 minute bodyweight workout, followed by a 30 minute run on my treadmill. I had a bunch of cleaning to do in the morning, and of course laundry, so that took up a good chunk of the morning. I got my nails done, and went to see my parent’s, since I hadn’t seen my Mama since Sunday before we left. Craziness!! I mean, a girl needs her Mama, am I right?!? 😉 I finally was also reunited with my babies and it felt OH SO GOOD! We played, laughed, snuggled, and played some more.
I caught up on some of my favorite Bravo shows while breaking a sweat during each commercial break with some mini HIIT workouts, since I didn’t want to feel “lazy”; Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules. My thoughts on these shows? I STILL very strongly dislike Lisa Rinna. It might even be safe to say (in my most Grinch-like voice) I hate, hate, hate, double hate, LOATHE ENTIRELY Lisa Rinna. Sorry, not sorry. Oh, and Jax is still an a**, I cringe at the way he talks to sweet Brittany, and I really hope she sees how terrible he treats her.
Saturday started with 10 minutes of plank variations, followed by a 45 minute run/incline walk on my treadmill. My sweet husband surprised me with some beautiful roses before he left for work. He knew I needed some cheering up. Happy wife, happy life.
I went to TjMaxx with my Mama, where we may or may not have went a little cray cray in the home section. Our couch now has some super cute pillows, perfect for Valentines Day! Stella Lou approves of them 😉
Just like on Friday, I snuggled up on my couch to catch up on another one of my favorite Bravo shows: Real Housewives of New Jersey. My thoughts on this one? Sigh is still on a whole other level of psycho; I mean really, you are arguing about your FOYER??!!!?? C’mon now! Draaaaammmmaaaaa!
Sunday I woke up feeling like crap, to put it nicely. I think I have caught ANOTHER cold from traveling….I knew I should have worn a mask on the airplane. Everyone around me was sick and coughing. Germs, germs everywhere.
Despite feeling lousy, I put in a load of laundry and hopped on my treadmill to get my sweat on. I wanted to run, but my body didn’t really like that and I felt winded after 5 minutes, so I slowed it down a bit and jogged/walked on an incline instead for 50 minutes. Always listen to your body!!! After I was all showered and clean, I got my DD coffee and sipped on that delicious baby while watching The Hallmark Channel before going to the grocery store with my Dad.
Once Michael headed out to work, I picked up my sister so we could run a couple errands. Target included, of course. We couldn’t leave without getting some unsweetened iced Green Teas at Starbucks, because…Starbucks.
The rest of the day was spent snuggled up watching the Patriots win (YAY!), watching a bit of a Hallmark movie, and catching the newest episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta. I eventually fell asleep around 10 (woo hoo, big partier over here) and was awake at 3am until 4ish feeling yucky. But, I did fall back asleep though!
Monday I woke up at the early hour of 6, even though I was up during the night. I couldn’t fall back asleep because of this cold. Once 6:45 rolled around, I figured I would get up. My body was feeling pretty good (even though my face was not) so I decided to try to run; I got in a 2.5 mile run before switching to jogging then a fast paced incline walk for another 2 miles. Woohoo! I felt good after getting my sweat on, and hopefully this cold goes away fast! 😉 After showering, I threw in (yet another) load of laundry, and went to DD to get my coffee. I sipped on that baby while watching Live with Kelly and Ryan….boy did I miss them! I hadn’t watched them all week!!! Hope you’re not sick of seeing my ‘beautiful’ coffee photos, because I AM NOT. I had a hair appointment, which felt amazing, as always. I hung around with Michael and played on his phone with some Minnie Mouse filters for her big day! I can’t not talk about it; congrats to the fabulous Minnie Mouse for getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
We had a DAY DATE (I love those) and went to the movies to see Den Of Thieves, we were pretty excited about it! Love me some 50 cent!
We really liked the movie! I know it’s probably silly to say, but I did miss him these past couple days since he was working a lot. I definitely think we need to make day or night dates at least once a week now. Anyways, once we got out of the theater we were starving, so we picked up some dinner and came home to eat. Michael went to jujitsu training afterwards and I happily snuggled on the couch for a little since I was feeling pretty lousy and my stomach was all sorts of wonky all day. I didn’t sleep well, probably because I still don’t feel that great. Whomp whomp.
This morning I woke up feeling the same; crappy, and lousy, but I got up and walked on my treadmill for 50 minutes…nothing crazy, I just wanted to move my body. Today I will be taking in the last day of this work vacation! Back to reality tomorrow. Boooooooo!
