Hey hey! Hump dayyyyy!!! It feels weird that today is Wednesday and I am heading back to work after having 10 days off! I have definitely enjoyed these days and have realized: I don’t like going to work. HAHA. Don’t we all wish we didn’t have to work?!? I told Michael this confession on Monday night after our movie date and said “I shouldn’t work, just be a girl boss all day and be an entrepreneur”…LOL! I wish! Maybe someday 😉 He definitely got a kick out of it.
It was actually really hard for me to get up this morning, pretty pathetic seeing as though I haven’t actually had to get up for work for a while. I crawled out of bed at 6:50 and got my behind on that treadmill for a 5 mile run/incline walk. I’ve been mixing it up (if you couldn’t tell) and doing a different version of intervals; short bursts of running followed by fast incline walking, then bursts of running, and repeating that. It makes the time go by fast and makes me one glistening, sweaty mess afterwards! Oh, and…today marks ONE MONTH until the Disney Princess 10K...ONE MONTH! Eeeekkkkk!!! I am excited, but nervous. More nervous than excited to tell you the truth.
Anyways, I am here today to share all about our past experience with Disney’s Wilderness Lodge during our quick, 3 night/4 day getaway last week!
Let’s rewind to last Monday, when we were finally in our rental car and on our way to our resort around 2ish, taking it all in; the sunshine, the palm trees, the fresh air, and DISNEY WORLD… there is no greater feeling than seeing that Walt Disney World sign…okay, maybe I lied, there is a better feeling: like seeing the CASTLE in all it’s beauty!!! It just takes your breath away, agree? But, this is a great sight too!
Behold, we arrived at Wilderness Lodge after about a 30 minute drive from the airport:
The hotel itself is beautiful! Definitely a “wilderness-y feel”, kind of reminded us of Animal Kingdom Lodge without the animals, obviously.
There was a pretty big fireplace in the lobby with rocking chairs, and a store…where I of course bought a bunch of things during our stay! It was so cozy and inviting in the lobby.
Upon check in, the cast member who was super nice gave us Happily Ever After buttons, because well, we are always celebrating our love whether in Disney or not! (But especially in Disney) 😉 Luckily, our room was ready early (SCORE) so we didn’t have to waste any time! We walked to our room, took in all of the detail of the resort! Look at those lights in the hallway, guys!!!
We were in a two queen bed room, room 4010 to be exact 😉 It was a nice room, where we had a view of Bay Lake and (later finding out) a view of the fireworks from Magic Kingdom!
I loved showering with Chip, Dale, Bambi, and Meeko everyday! So cute!!
We got one of those new “Room Occupied” door hangers to place on the outside of our door whenever we were inside. Did you hear? Disney recently has taken some new security measures and removed the “Do not disturb” signs from rooms at certain resorts; I was actually kind of surprised to find one in our rooms since the only news I have heard about them are that they are at “monorail resorts” meaning the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian. But, I was happy to hang it on our door! I wonder if we will find one at Port Orleans Riverside during our next trip (in 29 days) 😉
We were ravenous, and decided to pick up a quick lunch before heading to Magic Kingdom at Roaring Fork, a quick service dining area that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner right at the resort. They had already made options and made to order options available.
I got a salad that came with apples, walnuts, & croutons, and Michael got their pulled pork sandwich served with tater tots. It was good for a quick bite to eat! I love when resorts have *FRESH* food readily available for guests!
Since Wilderness Lodge is close to Magic Kingdom, they have a boat that goes over, which is so awesome!! I just love the boat rides there! We took advantage of this and caught a boat ride to and from Magic Kingdom on our first day there! (I forgot to snap a picture of the boat, but I snapped a picture of my really cute shoes I had on, haha!)
Michael being the brilliant man that he is, had a feeling we would be able to see the fireworks from our room, and when we got back to our room our second night before going to Disney Springs, we got to watch them right outside on our balcony!!! So special!
We really liked this resort, a lot! I loved that they had the health club so I could go workout there (see my post on that, HERE), and I loved that you could take the boat over to Magic Kingdom, and were super close to it. I loved that our room had a view of the fireworks, and was clean and bright. My all time favorite resort is the Grand Floridian and Animal Kingdom Lodge, but this is right up in the top three!
Have a great day, loves! XOXO ♥♥
