A weekend of celebrating

Good morning!! Happy Monday!! Thank you for stopping by my blog today, I appreciate you 🙂 I hope you had a great weekend! I am still “weekend-ing” over here, the sun is shining after a day of straight rain, and I am feeling fantastic!

This weekend has been great, it certainly has been one of many celebrations between my bog-iversary and Michael’s new position. I am SO thankful to be able to spend time with Michael. It felt weird (but good) being with him on both a Friday and Saturday night, something we haven’t been able to do, I think, since our Disney vacation in February. Speaking of vacation, we are EIGHT days away from our anniversary vacation!! WOOOHOOO!!! It is going to come so fast now, and luckily I think I am pretty much well prepared. All of the dresses I bought from Lulus are coming today, and I am hoping and praying they are all good or there will for sure be some major panic happening.

Let’s dive right into what my weekend has looked like!

Friday was this blog’s one year anniversary and I have a giveaway going on over at my Instagram! If you haven’t entered yet, be sure to do so! You know you want to win two gift cards to my favorite things!! My Mama was so kind to take all of those pictures of me (there were about 50 of them..yikes, haha), as seen on my Instagram, and on that last post! Thank you Mama, you’re the best! I had to work until 4, but I snuck away on my lunch break to see the babes, because I haven’t had baby snuggles in a while.

Such sweeties, I tell ya! They are obsessed with Ring Pops. We can’t seem to find those babies anywhere, but they surprisingly had a stand of them at a grocery store, but I bought them all already. So now I haven’t been able to find them. I know they have them on Amazon…maybe I will just cave and buy them a whole bunch. I know they would love that, haha! Once I was out of work, I hit up Starbucks and came home to see Michael. Let me just say, it has been absolutely FANTASTIC being able to spend time with him!! We ran some errands and just enjoyed being together!

Saturday morning kicked off with a 20 minute cardio workout, and a 30 minute run on the treadmill. I also did 10 minutes of planks, because those babies are my favorites! I worked until 3, and SURPRISE!! Got to spend the rest of the day with Michael!! I know I already said it, but I really don’t remember the time we had a Friday AND Saturday night together!!!! We went to Old Navy where I bought a (super cheap!) bathing suit, and two workout tanks. They were having a major sale apparently, and all of that came to $48.00!!! We then went to TjMaxx so I could return that bathing suit I bought last week, because the ones I got at Express and Old Navy are just cuter. Once we got home, it was time to dig into some shows we had on DVR! We watched Jersey Shore, and Ex On The Beach. Two shows that are just stupid, but I love ’em. Sorry, not sorry.

Sunday morning started with a 10 minute ab workout…my favorite 10 minute toned abs from Tone It Up to be exact! Then a 40 minute run/walk on the treadmill. I started reading If You Only Knew by Kristan Higgins, as it was just waiting for me on my Kindle to read. I don’t even remember when I purchased it, whoops, but I figured now is a perfect time since I was between books, and the one I was reading was not keeping my interest at all. I think I needed to switch it up from all of the (amazing) books I have been reading, and just read something funny and entertaining. So far, so good! 😉 Anyway, Sunday was a really rainy and gloomy day, so you can imagine my hair was NOT looking hot at all. I tried and tried to make it look somewhat pretty, because it was date day/night with Michael, but seeing as I am totally hair challenged, I ended up texting my hair dresser for a blow out in the afternoon. She works miracles, folks, and got me in! I went to the grocery store with my Dad, then came back home to hang out with Michael for a bit before my hair appointment. Funny story, I put on Bravo only to find The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion was on…and Michael was getting a big laugh of out it. I might even be tempted to say he was loving it just as much as me…..mayyyyybe. Once I was done with my blow out and about an hour later, we headed out to the Natick Mall for some shopping and celebratory dinner!!

The mall was PACKED, per usual during the weekend. We should have known that wasn’t a good idea to do on a Sunday. Too crazy!! Regardless, he bought a couple shirts in Express (I tried some things on, but was NOT feeling it), we got Starbucks (after waiting about a half hour for it), and I bought two adorable beach cover ups and two big floppy beach hats at Francesca’s. I love that store and I can’t wait to wear them on the beach!!

After spending about an hour in the mall, we were just overwhelmed with all of the people, and I could tell Michael was becoming Mr. Grumpy Pants, so I figured this man needed to get the heck out of the mall and I had to get some food in that man’s belly! To The Cheesecake Factory we went! Even though we each had something to celebrate (my blog-iversary, and his new position), I wanted to make it special for him and solely focus on his accomplishment because I am so proud of him! So really, we were just celebrating that handsome man.

We took our time when we were sat, because it was still a little early (what are we, old people?) and I wasn’t really hungry for dinner yet. We ordered drinks: champagne for me, and beer for him. Cheers!!!

We eventually ordered the Thai Lettuce Wraps, because hello….we LOVE those things! After we were done with those, we ordered our meals. Shocker: we ordered the exact same thing as always. Orange Chicken for him, and the Chicken, Mango, and Avocado Salad (modified) for me.

Unfortunately, Michael’s orange chicken was disgustingly soggy, mushy, and not looking too good over there. We sent it back and asked for a new one. The manager was so kind to come over and chat with us, telling us the cook must have missed a step with the chicken, and a new plate would be out soon. After a couple minutes, a new plate came out for him, only to find the same exact mushy, soggy, disgusting chicken on the plate. He didn’t even eat it and just sent it back. I was so sad because it was supposed to be a special night for him and his food came out like crap! However, we know it is not always like that there, it just must have been a new chef or something. He reassured me he was very full off of loads of bread, lettuce wraps, and the chicken from my salad. Since it was a celebration, we just HAD to get him a slice of the Celebration Cheesecake!

I told the workers ahead of time that we were celebrating and asked if they could write “Congratulations” on his cheesecake plate. 😉 I can be a sneaky wife sometimes.

With full bellies, we headed home to watch a movie and relax in bed. It was such a fun day!

This morning I am so super sore, but I still wanted to workout and get my body in motion! First up was a 20 minute arm and ab workout, then a 30 minute incline walk on my treadmill. I am now happily sipping my DD coffee (mmmmm), and watching Live with Kelly and Ryan! We have plans today to finally go see Avengers: Infinity War, and I am psyched!!

Have a fabulous day!!! ♥♥♥
