Good morning! Happy Thursday!! I am back to work today (boo) but the weekend is near and I am so excited because that means it is almost time for DISNEY WORLD!!
I must admit, it felt soooooo nice not having to go to work. I told Michael I could totally get used to this (hint hint). Haha. Joking…
maybe? I wish I had the rest of the week off too to get ready for our trip, but such is life and I must just suck it up and go to work. I mean, how terrible, three days until we are in Disney for 9 days….how awful right? NOT!! I am so thankful and so blessed!! I can’t wait to spend time with my hubby and have tons of fun!
I’m linking this post up with Amanda for some Thinking Out Loud!
I hope you had a fabulous Fourth of July, I know I did! I actually got a lot done during the day (surprisingly, because the day before I was a complete lazy bum) and spent most of the morning doing laundry (5 loads!!), packing, cleaning, and picking up a couple things at Target. By the time 1:30 rolled around I realized I was hungry and hadn’t even sat down (well besides in the car) all morning, so I got myself some lunch and watched an old episode of RHOC (omg, they look so different now). After that, I listened to one of Rachel Hollis’ episode of her RISE podcast (I LOVE this podcast, and I never was able to get into them, but I think I am finally getting into the whole podcast craze now) and hopped on the treadmill for a 35 minute incline walk. You see, I knew I was going to workout in the afternoon, which is why I didn’t really put any pressure on myself to workout in the morning when I didn’t really feel 100% like myself. A Starbucks run was needed after that, and once again my tea was ice-less. BOO. I can’t ever win with them; if I say “light ice” I get no ice and then if I don’t say anything at all I get a cup of ice with a shot of tea in it and it is gone in literally a minute.
Michael got home around 4 from work and we headed to my parent’s house for their Fourth of July cookout!
My sister, brother in law, nephews, brother, his girlfriend, and my Pepere were all over my parent’s. I was so happy Michael was able to come too, as he sometimes isn’t able to come to family gatherings because of work, but luckily he got a little break in between shifts so that he was able to come along 🙂 And I think it’s safe to say Gio was happy about it too!
My Dad is the grill master and was on grillin’ duty, as always. Along with all the meats (and I mean ALL the meats; chicken, chicken wings, steaks, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs), there was french fries, pasta salad, potato salad, fruit salad, and regular salad. I filled my plate with salad, fruit salad, and veggies from the pasta salad.
After dinner, my Mama got out the strawberry jello cake she had made for the celebration. It’s super easy (and fun) to make and just so festive! And then it was time for play time for Michael and the boys. They love their Uncle Michael!
We ended up leaving a bit later, and went back home so Michael could rest up before going back into work. It was a wonderful day, and I am so grateful I got to spend some time with him and my family! We didn’t see any fireworks, mostly because fireworks around here are NOTHING compared to Disney fireworks, and I would much rather wait to see all the fireworks when we are there, and because I am a grandma and my bed seemed much better than fireworks. Haha!
I kept waking up during the night so I don’t really think I slept that great, but I was up and ready to go even earlier than usual. So, I started my morning with a 4 mile run on the treadmill and finished it off with a 15 minute ab and arm workout. I went to the grocery store really fast (and I mean really fast, I was in and out of there in 10 minutes) once I was all showered and ready for the day because once again we needed to restock our fruit supply, haha. And now I am at work until later today…and praying this day goes by fast! 😉
Tell me! What was your Fourth of July like?? Did you see any fireworks?
I hope you have a wonderful day! Xoxo ♥♥
