Helloooo! Happy Wednesday. I just wrote Thursday… I keep thinking that it was Thursday and then I have to remind myself it is not Thursday, but in fact Wednesday. Wishful thinking I guess. I hope you are having a fantastic week, and even though today is only Wednesday, it is finally the middle of the week! Anyone else feel like this week is long? (Yes, I know it technically just started yesterday for me. Haha.)
I’ve been up since around 5:30 this morning, it is SO windy and cold out today. I actually almost got blown away when I quickly went to the grocery store, no lie. I started my morning with a workout! I began with a 20 minute ab circuit, 10 minute cardio circuit, and then a 2.5 mile run on the treadmill.
I’m back today with another Disney post! This one is my favorite, because it is all about my favorite restaurant! I think you all know by now what that restaurant is…..
I’m calling this one: The best of the best! Breakfasts at The Grand Floridian Cafe!
I’ve written it a million billion times on here sharing my love for this restaurant, and really I just love it so much. Whenever we dine here it feels like we are home (granted, every trip we take there is always someone new working, and some old ones are no longer there), and are treated like gold. If you followed along on my Instagram stories while we were in Disney, you already know we dined here for my favorite meal of the day every day on our trip, besides the first day we checked in since we ate at Boma. I can’t think of any other way I would want to start our days when in Disney but with a delicious breakfast at our favorite restaurant!
To begin, The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is my FAVORITE resort on Disney property. I just love going there and I hope we stay there again (we stayed in a three bedroom villa with my family during the trip where Michael proposed, and Michael and I stayed in a one bedroom villa during our wedding trip). If you ever have the chance to stay there, please do. It is magical and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed and you won’t want to ever go home.
I caught a glimpse of the gingerbread house going up on our last day!!
Just like every other restaurant on Disney property, I made us a reservation on My Disney Experience and added my allergies in the special dietary requests options right in the App. It is actually super convenient, and I highly recommend adding in your allergies/intolerances/etc. if you have any dietary restrictions since the restaurant will be aware of your allergy the minute you check into the restaurant. However, if you forget to add it into the App when making your reservation (sometimes I forgot), you can just tell the hostess when checking in that you have an allergy and they can make note of it on your reservation in their system. Also, I know I said it before but I really need to say it again: Disney is the MOST ACCOMMODATING place ever with food allergies. This is one of the reasons why I love Disney and feel so comfortable going there a lot, because I know the food is safe for me to eat without risking getting a bad stomach ache after eating. (That is no fun at all.)
The allergy menu is similar to the regular menu (note: The Grand Floridian Cafe offers a “brunch” time menu with both breakfast and lunch options); it has lots of options that are gluten free, egg free, soy free, nut free, dairy free, free of all the things. I snapped some pictures of the menu this time, but it really isn’t the same as having the menu in your hand, so I apologize for the picture quality.
To start breakfast at The Grand Floridian Cafe, our waiter/waitress brings out non-allergy friendly biscuits for all who are dining who don’t have allergies (Michael loves them so so much) with butter and assorted jellies, and gluten free/vegan/free of all of the things allergy friendly rolls for those with allergies. These allergy friendly rolls are pretty much offered at every Disney restaurant, and usually are given to you with some vegan butter (if you are vegan), and jellies. I must note (even though I did in my last post about this restaurant), some places don’t know how to prepare these rolls. I luckily didn’t have that problem this trip and was always given rolls that were perfectly prepared (I think you just heat it up in the microwave for a couple seconds, so if you get a sponge-like roll given to you, kindly ask your waiter to heat them up in the microwave for a couple seconds).
The BEST COFFEE in all of Disney World is at The Grand Floridian Cafe. I promise. It was sooooo good, like even better than my daily morning Dunkin’ coffees at home. (I know, I think it’s crazy that I just said that too.)
You all know what I would get every single day while dining there….a magnificent FRUIT PLATE! 🙂 I order my fruit plate with no yogurt, granola, or figs, but ask if I could have some extra fruit and also order a side of watermelon since the fruit plate initially doesn’t come with it. I mean, look at it! It is just a beauty, and tasted even better than it looked every single day.
The Grand Floridian Cafe offers gluten free/vegan pancakes and Mickey waffles, but I didn’t order those this trip. But, here is a couple pictures of the gorgeous allergy friendly Mickey waffles I got here from our last trip! 😉
They also have an assortment of breads, bagels, english muffins that you can order with your breakfast which are gluten free/vegan. However, if you remember my post on our last trip in Disney, the bread for toast isn’t vegan because it is made with eggs. However, this trip I ordered a gluten free/vegan english muffin. I think the english muffin wasn’t made with egg because I wasn’t informed that it wasn’t vegan or anything and it didn’t upset my stomach at all.
Michael’s breakfast’s looked different each day, and loved every single thing he ordered!
One day he ordered the strawberry sugar cookie pancakes which was said to come with strawberries, whipped cream, sugar cookie pieces, and strawberry sauce. The only disappointment about it he said was that the toppings came on the side, and the strawberry sauce was missing. (He just used maple syrup instead.) He loves the pancakes from The Grand Floridian Cafe; they are thick and fluffy! Mmmmmm!
Another order was the fruit plate which comes with yogurt and granola along with figs, and an order of eggs with wheat toast.
Another day, he ordered pancakes which he topped with butter and maple syrup, and the Grand Breakfast which comes with eggs, bacon and sausage, and a cheesy hash brown casserole.
Now, do you see why we LOVE it so much?! The food is delicious, the service is (most of the time, unless it is a very busy and hectic day in there) amazing, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend you dine there during your next Disney vacation!!
I hope you have a wonderful day, loves! Xoxo ♥♥
