Good morning! Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a great week.
I didn’t mean to go MIA on the blog these past two days, but I’ve been feeling pretty sick and staring at my laptop typing up blog posts haven’t really been on the top of my to do lists, but have no fear! I mustered up the energy to type this up last night while cozying up on the couch watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, obviously. It seems that has been my #1 activity in the past week and I’ve been getting a looooot of rest. I don’t know what is going on, but it feels like I have been sick forever and come tomorrow, it will make one whole week of feeling like total trash. Hopefully I start to feel better very soon because this is no fun at all.
I actually have some more Disney posts for you, which I totally have been keeping from you for too long, but don’t worry…I did not forget about them! I can’t believe it is taking me so long to get these Disney posts published, but I hope you’ll forgive me because of the holidays and stuff, and isn’t it funner to read about Disney World every once and a while than having to hear about my boring day to day life every single day?! 😉

Dinner at Trattoria Al Forno
I’m shocked to say that Michael and I have never ever ate at Trattoria Al Forno at the Boardwalk before this given the amount of times we’ve walked along the Boardwalk and hung around there. I told Michael I wanted to try something new (for the blog, duh) and decided to give this restaurant a try. Luckily I was able to snag a reservation for dinner a couple hours before (literally like 2 hours before) on My Disney Experience and noted my ‘food allergies’ right in there.
Trattoria Al Forno, as mentioned, is located at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and is an Italian restaurant that is open for breakfast (I am so adamant that we must eat there for breakfast one of these times) with characters from Tangled and The Little Mermaid from 7:30am-12:05pm, along with (non character) dinner from 5pm-10pm. We were pleasantly surprised when walking into Trattoria Al Forno with it’s very nice ambience, kind of like you are stepping into an upscale Italian restaurant. To say I fell in love the second we walked in is just a peek into what waited for us once we sat down for dinner!
Once we were seated (not even 5 minutes after checking in with the hostess), our waiter kindly greeted us with some water (might I add it was NOT tap water, very very appreciated especially in Florida…I’m telling you, Florida tap water does not taste good at all) and asked about my food allergies as I explained to him that I was vegan/gluten free. At this time, he informed me that he would get the chef to come over to talk to me about what my options were and took our drink order in the mean time. Due to the fact that it was our last night in Disney and we were super happy we picked such a nice restaurant, I ordered a glass of champagne and Michael ordered a glass of red wine. Cheers!
The chef that came over to our table was Chef Josh, who was absolutely amazing and accommodating in every single way! I explained to him that I am pretty much basic and like steamed (not seasoned) vegetables and salad. He told me that he would create something great for me and if there was anything else I needed, to please be sure to let him know. I felt VERY VERY taken care of, which was absolutely surprising because usually a chef will come out to talk to me at buffet style meals, not sit down table service meals. Chef Josh brought out some gluten free/allergy friendly dinner rolls for me and some fresh Italian bread for Michael.
Along with our bread, appetizers were brought out to us. Mine was a large salad with veggies, PEACHES, and balsamic vinegar on the side. Heaven? Yes. Yes indeed it was! Michael ordered a salad also but I don’t remember exactly what was in it.
Our waiter brought out Michael’s main dish of Chicken Parmigiana as Chef Josh brought out my AMAZING bowl of YUM! What was in this bowl of yum, you ask? How about every vegetable you could think of……YESSSS!
I loved our experience at Trattoria Al Forno and will definitely be back. Honestly, our “favorite” Italian restaurant prior to dining here was at Via Napoli inside Italy at Epcot’s World Showcase, and this restaurant does not even compare to any of our experiences we had in the past at Via Napoli. I must also add that we have dined at Tutto Italia also inside Italy at Epcot’s World Showcase and Trattoria Al Forno also beat that out of the park! We were extremely pleased with how well we were taken care of, how quickly we were seated, how quickly we were served, how kind all of the staff was, and how good the food was!
If you have ever thought about dining at Trattoria Al Forno and haven’t in the past, I HIGHLY recommend making yourself a dinner reservation! You will not be sorry!
Have a wonderful day! Xoxo ♥♥
