Weekend Recap & Dinner at Garden Grill

Hellloooo! Happy Monday to you!

I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was fast, but good! Luckily today is another “weekend day” for me and I am soaking it all up. I started the week off with a 20 minute incline walk, and then two classes with obé…which had me sweating, laughing, smiling, and just having so much fun! Literally I am obsessed. I brought Gio to school, and have a dentist appointment this morning so I figured I would pop in here for a quick post before then! I didn’t want to leave you hanging since last Thursday 😉

My weekend was filled with lots and lots of workouts (I really am obsessed), time spent with Michael and my family. My Dad came to church with me yesterday since Michael was working and it was so great! I also caught up on a couple of the Bravo shows that were sitting in our DVR..I watched the reunion shows of Real Housewives of Orange County & Dallas. A quick rant on RHOC: Shannon has seriously GOT TO GO. I do not like her “poor me”attitude  and all of the depressing stuff that she comes with..it really is a lousy story. I get she is getting a divorce and everything, but to be honest, most of the ladies that go on that particular show end up getting a divorce and you don’t see them always sticking to the “poor me” attitude. But, on the other side, I do feel badly for her. It makes me sad that she is sad and is obviously hurting. But then again it is just a tv show, and they don’t show everything so who am I to talk about their lives when I don’t even really know them, only what is shown in that hour long show every week?!

I still have done NO Christmas shopping. Guys, I don’t even know what is going on with me this year. It is like I am waiting for Santa’s helpers to come help me out, or magically send me gifts or something. I really have to snap out of it and GET ON THE MOVE with the Christmas shopping! What about you? Did you get all of your shopping done?

I’m just jumping right into this Disney post for ya’ll! Also, I am still working on getting that Travel page set up for you so it is easier for you to find all of these Disney posts and other travel posts. But in the mean time, if you missed any of my other Disney recap posts from this most recent trip, you can find Animal Kingdom Villas & breakfast at Boma HERE, dinner at ‘Ohana HERE, my favorite breakfast spot HERE, a day in my favorite park HERE, dinner at Trattoria Al Forno HERE, our stay at Port Orleans Riverside HERE, and dinner at Chef Mickey’s HERE.

Dinner at Garden Grill

Obviously you know by now we usually eat at Garden Grill during every trip we take to Disney, and I know I have several reviews about this place, but I wanted to give it another review. Anyways, if you remember my post about this place and you don’t want to read another review about this place, feel free to move along. I appreciate you anyways 😉

Garden Grill is located inside The Land at Disney World’s Epcot park. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is a family-style, all you care to eat restaurant. While there, you get to meet with Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey Mouse himself during Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast! Garden Grill restaurant is actually a slowly rotating restaurant, circling you around the Living with the Land attraction, which means you get a different view of it every time. This time dining there was actually our first time dining on the first level  so we had like a front row seat of the different views of the Land.

Just like I have said before, I really love dining here because the food is seriously FRESH and the vegetables are grown right downstairs in the Living with the Land attraction. When making our reservation (which was just like every other dinner reservation we had on this trip and was made like that same day) in the My Disney Experience app, I noted of my food allergies and I also told the hostess. When we sat down, I was given the Vegetarian/Vegan menu, and our waiter actually asked me this time if I wanted to speak to a chef. Because I have been there a billion times, I didn’t think I needed to talk to a chef because I knew what they had to offer me being gluten free/vegan. Note: This really was the first time a waiter/waitress had asked me if I wanted to speak to a chef at this restaurant. And this was the first time we felt like we weren’t being rushed by our waiter. To be honest, sometimes at these character restaurants, the waiters seem to be rushing and kind of act like they just want to move you along and get you out of their tables. This was not the case at all this experience, and I think we were there for close to an hour and a half meeting the characters and enjoying our dinner.

Our meal started with gluten free/vegan rolls for me, regular rolls for Michael, along with a Farmer’s Salad with the dressing on the side for me, and a Farmer’s Salad already dressed for Michael. Our main dishes included a large skillet for each of us; mine included some loaf (I don’t know what it was, and I forgot to ask), green beans, rice pilaf, and potatoes. Michael’s skillet was filled with pot roast, turkey breast, carved pork with apple chutney, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and veggies. He also had a side plate of french fries and macaroni and cheese. Note: I asked for more green beans, which those were brought out shortly after asking for them.

For dessert, I was given the option to get a vegan dessert, but I asked for a fruit bowl, even though I was completely stuffed and hardly ate the fruit. Michael was given the ginormous strawberry shortcake.

The characters were tons of fun during our dinner this time. (As always).

Chip (or Dale?) was in love with me and kept coming back to our table to blow me air kisses and draw hearts in the air. It was so cute and so hilarious. Michael even asked if I was going to go home with him instead of Michael. Hahaha.

We once again had a fun time at Garden Grill and will be keeping this one on our list to dine at! 🙂

I hope you have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Xoxo ♥

  1. Garden Grill totally looks like a restaurant that I would love to eat at. I really enjoy fresh steamed veggies and lean grilled chicken/turkey. Do you think that your veggies at these restaurants are cooked in oil at all? I’d rather them not be BUT I find that most restaurants do! 🙁

    1. The green beans at Garden Grill were cooked in oil but they were good and not drenched so I didn’t say anything. However, I have asked for steamed veggies at every restaurant (besides this one) we ate at in Disney and if they were cooked in oil I asked for them to be remade. Veggies at every restaurant are usually cooked in oil though. But, you can always ask for plain steamed veggies because obviously it can be done. I usually warn the chef at every restaurant when we start talking that I am super plain and want my food without oil, or seasoning. 🙂
