Weekend Review: The first one of 2019!

Hey hey! Happy Tuesday!! Today is technically my Monday so I literally just typed ‘Happy Monday’ which is totally funny since I clearly knew yesterday was Monday. Oh well. That’s what happens when you start your work week on Tuesday’s I guess!

Did you catch my blog post yesterday about my Invisalign treatment? I updated you guys on how it’s been going these past couple weeks, and will share more updates as I go along in my treatment!

I’m here today to share what was going on around here in my life during the first weekend in 2019! What did you do this past weekend? Anything fun? I would love to hear!

Friday started with two great obe workouts in the morning: sweat dance and define sculpt! I was a complete sweaty mess afterwards and felt amazing. I had work until the afternoon when I picked up Gio from school and surprised him and Enzo with donuts. Gio wasn’t too thrilled with my “surprise” donuts, since he apparently thought I had something fabulous like Mickey Mouse waiting for him in the car. Haha. Joking. I thought it would be a great surprise for a Friday! 😉 I went to the grocery store after and then hung around with Michael for the rest of the night. We caught up on a couple of the shows we had in our dvr: Ex on the beach, and Floribama Shore…a night of trashy train-wreck (but so good and so entertaining) reality tv! Haha!

Saturday morning started with a sweat dance class and then a define sculpt class both on replay on obe, a 20 minute incline walk on the treadmill, and then a live power class. I normally wouldn’t have taken the power class but it was MOANA themed!! So you bet I most definitely had to join in live and had a blast. I was dancing and singing along with the music and loved every second of it, sweat and all. That made me a little behind getting ready for work in the morning, but I am apparently the queen of getting ready in a hurry. I worked until mid afternoon, and then had a movie night with Michael before bed. The movie we watched was White Boy Rick, which was a great movie, but warning: it doesn’t have a happy ending…so that was totally a bummer, especially after looking this guy up once it was over to see what is going on with him now since it is a true story. Sooooo I do recommend the movie, but not for a happily ever after type of movie. Haha.

Sunday morning started with a HIIT class on obe replay (which was the bombbbb), and then church! Once we got home from church, Michael went to jujitsu, and I turned Lifetime on tv, and literally got SUCKED into the documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly” with shock, disgust, and sadness. Shocked at how he really was/still is, disgusted at his behavior and actions, and SADNESS for those poor YOUNG girls/woman and especially for his ex wife. I can’t even believe all of it, and still can’t stop thinking about it. I literally had no idea he was/is like this, because apparently I have been hiding under a shell in my teenage years bumping my music loud to Ignition. Icckkkk!!!! I seriously got so sucked into the show and couldn’t stop watching. I watched from 11:30 all the way until 3:30 once Michael got back home and was heartbroken. This man needs serious help, and all of those girls need a big hug from their Mama. How in the world is this awful stuff still going on?

Michael ended up prying me away from the tv to get ready to go over to my parent’s house to celebrate my Dad’s birthday (his birthday was yesterday!! Happy birthday Daddy!! I love you!!!) with the whole gang; my mama, my dad (obv), my brother, his girlfriend, my sister, my brother in law, my two nephews, and Michael & I.

Monday morning started bright (okay, not bright. It was really dark outside) and early for me. I woke up at 5am to get my workout on, and might I add that I haven’t woken up at 5am for a workout in a while I used to wake up at 4:30/5am every morning when I was teaching in order to be at work for 8am, and even woke up that early when subbing for a short time last year, but since I don’t have to be at work until 10am now I wake up at 6am. (Praise!) I actually love the morning hours and find myself happier when I wake up earlier, rather than later.

My workout was from the New Year, Best You challenge that obe fitness is doing for the next 5 weeks in order to kick off the new year. I actually got the challenge for free because they were giving all annual subscribers a free membership to the challenge, so I switched my account over on Sunday night from monthly to annual (yes, I am clearly a procrastinator) and was super excited to start it Monday morning! What this challenge includes is basically one new workout a week (along with all of the normal workouts, but there is one particularly for the challenge and only given to challengers) that is 45 minutes long (the workouts are normally 28 minutes, but for this challenge it is 45 minutes) and with two trainers so you get two classes mashed up all in one! You also get access to coffee talk videos, nutrition advice (meal plan ideas, grocery list ideas), and a suggested workout plan. I am joining along pretty much solely for the extra 45 minute workouts every week and SO excited to just be apart of the challenge. I obviously was on the fence about switching my account over to annual (which was kind of silly because it is cheaper anyway than just paying monthly) in order to join this challenge, but I am glad I did it…last minute. Lol. I admit I had major FOMO happening because they kept sharing about the challenge and I just had to know what this was all about!

Anyways, my morning started with that 45 minute challenge workout which was a combination of sweat dance and define power. It was AWESOME, killer, sweaty, and fun. I was super sweaty, smiling (on the verge of cussing at some points, not going to lie-haha), and sore. Literally, I could feel it all day. I am eager to do this workout again probably towards the end of the week but I am also excited to do my “normal” live workouts this week, and replay classes on the weekend. I will be sharing my workouts daily like usual, but I think I will also share a weekly workout post too! What do you think? I love sharing my workouts with you!

The reason for waking up early Monday morning was because Michael had a doctor’s appointment in Boston, and we had to leave by 8 because traffic is awful heading into the city on any weekday morning. The appointment was for his salivary stones that he had a procedure on a couple months back. We are feeling optimistic and TRUSTING (see, my word for the year!) God that the next time he has a procedure he will be all cleared and free of these not nice, very sneaky, and annoying stones. If you can tell by these pictures below, we left in good spirits! 😉

We got home from Boston a little after noon, and totally just relaxed all afternoon, and I somehow took like a half hour/hour long nap on the couch since apparently I needed the extra rest. It was super cold out too so cozying up on the couch for the rest of the day sounded lovely, and besides hitting up the tanning salon to help with the warming up, I happily was cuddled up on the couch for the rest of the day/night in my blanket. It was the best.

This morning I started with a 25 minute run, a sweat circuit class and then a define sculpt class both on obe. Anddddd let me tell you, the sweat was pourrrrring out of me. Haha. Literally. It was crazy. I am working today but I FINALLY am getting my lashes filled later this afternoon. YAY! They all seemed to fall out last Wednesday or Thursday and I was feeling very lash-less all weekend long. (Yikes!) I am very thankful I have an appointment today, I definitely feel naked without a full set of lashes.
