Weekend Recap: Easter Weekend 2019

Good morning! Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great Easter weekend! I sure had a fabulous weekend! Besides the really rainy day we had on Saturday, we have been blessed with some warmer temperatures and we were able to play outside!

I’m coming at you today with a little weekend recap for you while I will be in the hospital all day waiting for Michael’s surgery to be done. If you didn’t know, he is having surgery on his knee due to his torn lateral meniscus. We were told that it won’t be a long surgery, and it doesn’t sound too bad, but he will be on crutches and will have to try to stay off of it for a couple days until starting physical therapy later this week. I’ll keep you guys updated, and as always I will most likely stay active on Instagram throughout the day to keep myself entertained, and awake, since we were required to be at the hospital at 5:45AM. FIVE FORTY FIVE A.M. people. Yikessss!

Good Friday

Friday morning started with a 2 mile run, then a sculpt and dance class on obé. I didnt do much in the morning, but I did receive the best surprise package ever! One of my good friends Rachel sent me the BEST birthday package! I literally cried my eyes out when I was opening it. I cannot believe she took the time to make me feel so special and sent me this amazing surprise! My package included a bunch of Live with Kelly and Ryan goodies: an apron, a hat, and a pop socket. She also got me Tinkerbell earrings straight from Disney World!!! SO kind of you Rachel, thank you so much! I love it all!

In the afternoon, I went over to my parent’s house since my sister and my nephews were going over too. We got to hangout outside and enjoy some play time.

Later in the day, I went to TjMaxx to check their inventory and didn’t find much besides thank you cards and new socks that I actually desperately needed. Michael ended up working later than usual, so I watched Real Housewives of Beverly Hills even though I said I wasn’t going to watch anymore of those episodes because I cannot stand it this season…but it never fails, of course, I watched it, but I still don’t like it. Michael got home around 8 so we watched the latest episode of A Double Shot At Love while I did some express abs before bed.

Saturday

Saturday was a SUPER rainy day. So yucky. And not to mention since it has been warmer outside our apartment is HOT HOT HOT. I woke up sweating, and didn’t stop because I worked out. Let me tell you something, working out when your thermostat says 76 degrees in your apartment is NOT fun. I literally died. But I did it. I ran 4 miles and did a HIIT replay on obé before laying on the floor in puddles of sweat. Yes friends, it wasn’t a pretty sight at all. Haha. Michael was off from work (he is off for the next month due to his knee) so instead of my ‘normal’ Saturday routine of putting a movie on while sipping coffee didn’t happen. He instead watched one of his favorite shows that I actually cannot stand. The show is Ridiculousness and if you have watched my Instagram stories from Saturday morning than you already know this, I’m sorry but I just cannot stand that girl’s laugh.

Michael ended up leaving to go to jujitsu so I quickly changed the channel to some worship music and was a very happy camper. Haha. A little while later, I logged into obé for my second (sweaty) workout of the day, an hour of sculpt with my new favorite trainer, Isaac.

Once I was done my second workout, I showered (again) and went over to my sister’s house and was given my birthday present since my nephews couldn’t wait any longer to give it to me. The boys helped me open the card and the present….can we talk about my present for a second? OH MY GOSH my heart bursted!! SOOOOO SWEET!

And honestly, the rest of the day was spent just hanging out. There wasn’t too much excitement for a Saturday night over here, but I loved every second of it because Michael was home with me!

Easter Sunday

Easter morning started with a workout, of course! I did a sculpt and dance class both on obé replay before getting ready for church.

Michael and I had to go to the grocery store once we were out of church, shocker. I was really surprised at how many people were there even though it was Easter Sunday. But, helllooooo, everyone needs food! 😉 When I was done putting all of the groceries away, we headed over to my parent’s house for our family Easter celebration.

The boys had already found their Easter eggs and presents before we had gotten there, so they were stuffing their faces with chocolate bunnies and were full of energy (as always).

For lunch, my parent’s had dishes catered by Peppercorn’s Grille & Tavern in Worcester, which is what we usually get for holidays so this might look familiar! The dishes are: Steak Tips with Rice Pilaf, Macaroni & Cheese, Chicken Marsala, and Chicken & Broccoli Penne. Along with that, my Mama made her homemade sauce and meatballs with penne, and put together a garden salad and fruit salad. SO MUCH FOOD!

I bet you can guess what I filled MY plate with! If you guessed garden salad & fruit salad, you are correct! Being a (mostly raw) vegan I’m pretty easy to please if you give me some fruit and salad! 🙂

After we ate lunch, we all made our way outside to play (and take pictures, of course). I had lots of fun playing with the bubbles (can you spot them in these candids?). I thought these candids that Michael took were funny, so I figured I would share for laughs. Haha.

And if that doesn’t make you laugh a bit, I hope these next pictures make you smile at least! Enzo got Uncle Michael inside the play house and it was the cutest thing of my life so I took some pictures.

After play time, we all made our way inside for my birthday celebration #2! The birthday celebrations just keep on coming!! 😉 My Mama made her famous strawberry jello cake and the whole family (including my Pepere) sang Happy Birthday to me. (On my actual birthday my brother and brother in law were missing.) And just like on my actual birthday, the boys helped me blow out my candles again. So special!

Michael and I left my parent’s house a little while later and enjoyed just relaxing at home for the rest of the day and night. Unfortunately I had a pretty gross headache, so laying on the couch sounded very good to me.

It was a great Easter Weekend! 🙂
